The Belton Center for the
Arts is bringing food for thought to the upstate. Food,
Glorious Food will showcase artwork that is inspired by
food. Themes can range from exploring various food-related
issues, celebrating different images of food, portraying food
traditions and examining the overall effect food has on our
lives. Food, Glorious Food is held in conjunction
with the Belton Area Museum Association's hosting of Key
Ingredients: America by Food, a national Smithsonian
Traveling exhibition.
The exhibit is set to run from July 11
- August 29, 2008.
The opening reception will be on Friday, July 11, 2008.
There is no entry fee for
submitting artwork. Only original works of art that have
not been previously exhibited at The Belton Center for the Arts
will be accepted. Entries may be created in any medium.
All 2-Dimensional artwork must be properly mounted for hanging
and should not exceed 48" x 60" in either direction. All
3-Dimensional work must weigh no more than 50 pounds.
There is a limit of 4 entries per artist. Subject
matter should be related to food in any way, shape or form.
Artwork could also literally use food as a material.
Overall, food should be the central theme of the artwork.
Artwork will be accepted at The Belton
Center for the Arts on Saturday, June 28, 2008 from 10:00 AM -
2:00 PM, and from Monday, June 30, 2008 through Thursday, July
3, 2008 during the hours of 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM..
