The Belton Center for the Arts held a ribbon
cutting on Monday, January 29, 2008 to officially open the new
facility.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony started at 5:30
p.m. at the new building, located two doors down at the corner
of River Street and the public square.
The ribbon cutting was sponsored by the
center, along with the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce, said
BCA director Betsy Chapman.
"At the same time of the official opening, we
will also recognize the Capital Campaign donors," said Mrs.
Chapman.
The donors include those with "Name
Opportunities," - David and Beth Cobb, clerestory window;
Punky Rice, classrooms; David and Debbie Jones - upstairs
gallery in memory of Carlton and Laura Pruitt; Lloyd and Frankie
Clary - pottery room in honor of Gina Ballard; Barbara Ervin -
Balcony railing; and Roy and Peg Ivey - stair railing.
Wall of Honor donations came from Rowe and
Trisha Henderson, Maynard's Home Furnishings, Hart-Oeland
Foundation, John S. and Carol M. Anderson, Rex and Weezer
Maynard, David and Debby Jones, Superior Engineering, Pauline
Rice, Ken and Loretta Heller, Anderson County (Larry Greer), Jim
and Ann Marshall, Larry and Mary Ann Wright, June and Charlie
